Book excerpt: Six out of ten young Spaniards want to enter the Public Administration. Stability, fixed hours and extra payments are the 'hooks' that justify that choice. Job security, the guarantee of a decent salary and office hours rank high on the list of life aspirations for millions of people. For them, these conditions are associated with an end, quality of life, and a means, working in the Public Administration. The statistics indicate this: six out of ten young people up to 30 years of age prefer - with the same salary and stability - to work in the public sector rather than in a private company. But not everything is a "paradise", also this type of employment has its disadvantages. It will be complex to envision the future occupations of human public employees since the process of substitution by robots will have very profound impacts, the competencies of the future are related to the most basic human skills: knowing how to read, write, count and speak. Whoever masters these skills (much more complex than they appear) will never lose their job, either in the Public Administration or outside of it. Teachers, police officers and health professionals are the main risk groups for burnout syndrome, a condition in the work environment that generates exhaustion, demotivation and anguish. Progressive exhaustion, lack of motivation for work and sudden changes in mood with feelings of sadness, grief, anguish, mental discomfort accompanied by melancholy, pessimism and insubstantiality. People, as social beings, are forced to establish relationships with their peers, whether in the family, educational, work or leisure environment. However, it is not always easy to function in a certain social or professional context . And it is not due to a lack of skills, but because the necessary skills to do so have not been acquired. Within the field of health, teaching to develop these skills has been shown to be the most effective way to establish healthy behaviors, both individually and collectively .
